Trees All Around Us

Saturday, May 20
10:30 a.m. – Noon

Can’t tell an oak from a maple? A sassafras from a witch hazel? Then this is the walk for you! Explore the trees of the Sanctuary while learning basic tree identification skills. It’s not just leaves that tell the story of a tree’s identity. Get a closer look at bark texture, twigs and leaves using a hand lens and scan the tops of the trees with binoculars. Along the way discover fun facts and native lore about trees. Dress for the weather. Bring binoculars.  This event is held at the Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street.  Pre-registration is required.  Members $2/person, non-members $4/person.  To register online click here or call 203-259-6305 ext. 109.
