Annual Meeting Set for October 6 in Hartford

August 24, 2015 – The Connecticut Audubon Society will hold its 2015 Annual Meeting at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford on Tuesday, October 6, from 7:30-9 p.m.

The meeting will feature a keynote address by David R. Foster, Ph.D., director of the Harvard Forest. He is author of Forests in Time – The Environmental Consequences of 1000 Years of Change in New England (2004; Yale University Press) and Wildlands and Woodlands: A Vision for the New England Landscape (2010; Harvard University).

Dr. Foster is also the contributor of a lead article in Connecticut Audubon’s upcoming Connecticut State of the Birds 2015 report, which will examine land conservation efforts in Connecticut as the state tries to meet its goal of protecting 21 percent of the land in Connecticut by 2023.

Dr. Foster’s talk will put Connecticut into the larger context of land conservation throughout New England.

The meeting will also include a review of the year’s accomplishments and finances, and the election by Connecticut Audubon Society members of the organization’s officers and new directors.

All Connecticut Audubon Society members are encouraged to attend. The general public is also welcome.

Admission is free but seating is limited and we urge you to RSVP to Allison Bryant of our membership staff, abryant@ctaudubon.org.
