Diana Atwood Johnson has been an active participant in the Connecticut Audubon Society’s activities for two decades. A photographer who has specialized in the lower Connecticut River, she has exhibited and sold her photos to benefit our organization. Her photos have graced previous editions of our annual report. If we gave frequent flyer miles for travelers who go on our EcoTravel tours, she probably would have amassed the most. And just recently through her wonderful generosity, we were able to procure a brand new van for our EcoTravel day trips.

In the wider world of conservation advocacy and activism in Connecticut, Diana chairs both the Old Lyme Open Space Commission and the State of Connecticut Natural Heritage, Open Space and Watershed Review Board. We are pleased to present her with the 2015 Dave Engelman Volunteer Benchmark Award.
