Connecticut Audubon
Society has been at the forefront of the environmental
movement in Connecticut for more than a century. It was through the vision
and energy of pioneering conservationist Mabel Osgood Wright that the
Connecticut Audubon Society was founded in 1898. What began as a small group
of concerned citizens organized to protect birds at the end of the 19th
century, has flourished into an innovative, statewide organization leading
environmental education into the 21st century.
