 6th Annual CAS Eagle Festival - February 19-20, 2005

Each winter the remarkable bald eagles come to the region from Canada and northern New England to feed on prey found in open waters of the lower Connecticut River. The Connecticut Audubon Society Eagle Festival is an annual celebration of these majestic birds of prey. Last year’s event saw more than 14,000 visitors come to Essex over the two-day span to view the bald eagle in the wild. “We were thrilled with the crowds who came out to the Festival,” commented Bob Martinez, Executive Director of Connecticut Audubon Society. “Visitors filled our lectures, live demonstrations and boats trips to capacity and enjoyed all that the Festival offers including viewing the nature show that these amazing bald eagles put on all weekend.”
