Finance and Executive Assistant
The Connecticut Audubon Society state office is seeking a full time Finance and Executive Assistant.
Administrative and accounting experience required; not-for-profit experience helpful.
Responsibilities include: administrative assistant to the President; scheduling meetings for State Board members and Board committees; phone system administration; accounting procedures (accounts payable and cash receipts processes). Ability to multi-task. Position requires person to wear many hats; flexible and unflappable personality a must. Position is based in Fairfield (2325 Burr Street). Membership Office Volunteers Needed for CAS Center at Fairfield
Madeline in the Membership Office always needs volunteers to help with our numerous membership mailings. We need help with sorting and stuffing envelopes as well as packaging membership gifts. It’s easy and a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for adults who want uncomplicated stress-free volunteer tasks, and for high school students who need to gain community service credit. Nature
Store Volunteers Needed for CAS Center at Fairfield
If you have a little time on your hands and are
looking for something that's both fun and very worthwhile,
consider volunteering a few hours a week at the CAS Center

Marketing/Communications Volunteer(s) Needed in Fairfield Area
Desperately seeking one or more volunteers with good basic computer skills and a working knowledge of how to navigate and do research on the Internet. The project is two-fold:
1) Research and compile a list of web sites and e-calendars that will list our special events and Nature Centers' programs for free, and
2) Send these web sites and e-calendars the information they require about our special events and Nature Centers' programs in the manner and format they require and on an ongoing basis.
3) Also need help updating and adding to our media database of 200+ media outlets.
4) Also seeking someone to help research and write basic press releases about upcoming events and distribute them via e-mail to the press.
Volunteer(s) would initially work out of our State office at 2325 Burr Street, Fairfield on a new computer we provide. Once project is up and running, volunteer(s) may choose to use their own computer(s) and work from home. Asking for minimum commitment of 4 hours/week during normal business hours on any weekday except Friday. As we have a very limited advertising budget, our ability to market our programs and special events using free web site listings and web calendars is crucial.

Photographer and Photo Assistant Needed in Fairfield Area
1) Can you help us organize and catalogue a sizable collection of photos, select and scan the best ones and help create an on-line photo library? We'll reimburse you for miles traveled to and from our office and your home. If you are studying library science or related field, we'll work with your school to arrange course credits. 2) Are you a good photographer, particularly of children and groups of children? We need volunteer photographers to help us take photos of events -- mainly children's programs that take place on weekdays at our Center at Fairfield and Birdcraft Museum. We would use your photos, and credit you, on our web site, in our publications, and for other marketing and media purposes. We would have a schedule of these events available well in advance so you could choose those events that fit your schedule. We have a digital camera available (Kodak) or you could use your own equipment. We'll reimburse you for miles traveled to and from our State Office or Nature Centers and your home, and any film, batteries or other supplies you need. If you are studying photography or related field, we will work with your school to arrange course credits.
