Job Title: EcoTravel Sales and Marketing Manager, Full-time

Location:  Essex, CT

The Sales and Marketing Manager for EcoTravel is responsible for developing and implementing a sales and marketing plan for Connecticut Audubon Society EcoTravel trips. This role includes leading trips. The Manager works for the Director EcoTravel.  Significant travel time required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sales and marketing – provide detailed, specific information to members and the public using multiple marketing channels. Develop and implement marketing plan. Post events/trips to website, and social media. Email communications with past participants. Compose and send press releases. Track annual sales and marketing goals.
• Communications – Answer phone calls/emails, respond to inquiries, transcribe messages and forward as needed to other staff.
• Travel booking – track sales and breakdown by category. Share sales information with Director. Bookkeeping for trips including credit card processing.
• EcoTravel vans – responsible for clean vehicle presentation and gas. Vehicle maintenance including oil changes, repairs, registration, and insurance.  Check periodically for dents, scratches, etc.
• Trips include both Day Trips and Overnight Trips. Design trip offerings and tours, lead/assist some trips, and communicate trip details via email with travelers prior to trip. Responsible for participant lists. Gather feedback after trip via evaluation process.
• Assist Director as needed
• Pick-up mail at post office.
  • Computer Skills – Outlook, Excel, Publisher, Word, and internet research.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Possess strong people and leadership skills.
  • Natural history background, botany, and ornithology helpful.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including travel.
  • Class D license with F-Endorsement (must be acquired before or soon after the hire date).Maintain clean office.

    REQUIREMENTS:

• Salary range: $ 35,000 – $ 45,000.
