Nesting Shorebirds – The 2020 Season at Milford Point

Join Coastal Ranger Kat Gillis as we walk along the shore recounting the exciting shore bird breeding season. Learn how the Piping Plovers and American Oystercatchers adapted in order to coexist with humans and adverse weather events of this summer.  

Participants are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. The entire program is outdoors, we will be walking along the shore. Please bring water, a sun hat, and apply sunblock, and bug spray before arriving. Note: Center building and facilities (including restrooms) are closed, however, there is a portable toilet available (please bring hand sanitizer).  

This program is for adults only. Group is limited to eight participants. Please bring binoculars. Members $15, Non-members $20.  These walks may be cancelled or postponed due to adverse weather. Pre-registration required. Once registered, participants will need to complete and return a waiver. This program is at the Coastal Center, 1 Milford Point Road, Milford, CT.
