Rosie Petal (Daisy Level)
10:00 – 11:00 or 11:15 – 12:15
Reduce, recycle and reuse — let’s make our world a better place! We will start with Rosie’s story A Better Beach for Everyone, then play recycle relay, discover new uses for old things and head outside for a forest clean up. Each Daisy will take home ideas and a personal poster to share with her family. .

Hiker (Brownie Level)
10:00 – 11:00 or 11:15 – 12:15
Where does the trail lead us? Will we come upon a pond or marsh along the way, or perhaps an animal in hiding? Take a hike in the Larsen Sanctuary to search for signs of animals and birds. You’ll also learn what gear to take on a hike and how to pack tasty, healthy snacks for energy. Helps accomplish Steps 1, 2 and 5.

Bugs (Brownie Level)
10:00 – 11:00 or 11:15 – 12:15
Creepy, crawly, buggy bugs — they play an important role in our world. Discover just how important they are to our ecosystems through exploration in the Larsen Sanctuary. Look for bug activity in various habitats and count how many different kinds you can find. Then put your artistic flair to work by drawing a bug poster. Helps accomplish Steps 1, 3, 4 and 5.

Animal Habitats (Junior Scout Level)
10:00 – Noon
Take to the trails! Investigate different animal habitats and discover who lives where. Learn about endangered animals and what can be done to protect their habitats and the animals that live there. Using your creative talents, put together what you’ve learned by creating an animal habitat. Helps accomplish Steps 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Registration has closed. Badges are not included. Participants will need to complete child and adult waivers. While outdoors, expect to practice social distancing; mask wearing will be optional (but subject to change). Masks and social distancing will be required if you need to enter the facility for any reason. For questions please call 203-259-6305 ext. 109.
