Woody Plants: An Introduction to Identification
Tuesday, August 25; 9-11 am
Falls River Preserve, Essex
Join teacher-naturalist John Cunningham for an introduction to identification of woody plants (trees, shrubs and vines that exhibit secondary growth) for a mile long woodland trail to see how many species we can identify as we pass through a variety of habitats (wet/dry, sunny/shaded). Native and invasive species will be observed and a few of the prominent species (hemlock, ash, beech) that face insect and disease challenges will be highlighted. $10 for members; $15 for non-members.
