Connecticut Audbon Society

Register: Adult Avian Watercolor Class

This series of classes will teach and guide you in exactly how to begin your exciting journey into watercolor painting. View some of the great master artists throughout Art History. Learn about the many choices of painting supplies on the market today and their uses. Relax and experiment with different techniques, and wonder at the varied results. Art fundamentals, such as composition, simple perspective, color layering, and how and when to use your dark and light colors, will provide a good foundation for the beginner. As you progress, learning about this range of dark and light colors will help you to achieve dimension in your work, a highly sought after skill. We will begin by practicing various drawing exercises, practice some fun watercolor techniques, and create our own personal watercolor guide. As we move along in this series, our final project will involve composing, then drawing and painting our “little feathered fall yard friends”, along with their proper habitat. Your teacher, Jeanne Board Fayumi will guide this class, step by step, to completion.
This series is appropriate for those 18 years of age and above. The class fee includes the use of all drawing and watercolor materials. Participants should bring a smock or old shirt.
Masks will be required while in the building.
