March 12, 2018 – The Connecticut Audubon Society is proud to be an official sponsor of the Connecticut Bird Atlas.

We devoted our most recent issue of Connecticut State of the Birds to the project, and we’ve been hosting orientation sessions at our centers, but we recently made a financial contribution to the Atlas project as well.

The Atlas is the most important bird research project ever in Connecticut, with a first-rate team of leaders from the Connecticut DEEP and UConn, and more than 500 volunteers.

We want to do as much as we can to help it succeed.

Our contribution will help the Atlas extend its research beyond the breeding and winter seasons into the spring and fall migration periods, helping it become more comprehensive than most state atlases.

Connecticut State of the Birds 2017 is titled “The New Bird Atlas: A Call to Action for Connecticut’s Conservationists.” You can read more about it here.
