Overlooking the Niantic River to the East, the 457 forested acres of Oswegatchie Hill Nature Preserve provides important habitat to most of Connecticut’s woodpecker species. We’ll walk the trails listening for the telltale drumming and calls of Downy Woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, Pileated Woodpeckers, and more.
