Thank you for celebrating! 

Thank you to everyone who celebrated the Diamondback Terrapin and our center’s mission. Thanks to your support, we were able to:

• Reach 5,513 people in programs – we taught in 167 community programs and 114 school classes
• Offer free webinars, including our 100th webinar: 100 birds in 100 minutes!
• Engage people through our virtual lecture series which reached individuals from Hawaii, Maryland, and Canada
• Offer new classes: Combo field and zoom program, Grasses Class, River Ecology Course, Vacation days program
• Complete many building renovations and sanctuary enhancements!

ABOUT DIAMONDBACK TERRAPINS

The Diamondback Terrapin can be found along the coastal waters and salt marshes of North America. This includes the tidal estuaries around the Connecticut River! Diamondback Terrapin turtles are unique because they are the only turtle in North America that inhabits brackish waters. Salt glands near their eyes allow them to excrete excess salt they may consume through their diet.
