Animal Tracking
Saturday, February 22 from 10:30 – 12:30 p.m.
What animal made that track? Who left that paw print on my driveway? Peer into the world of animals through the tracks they leave behind. In this workshop, you’ll learn to read the landscape and increase your outdoor awareness and ability to find and interpret tracks and signs left behind by animals. Topics discussed will include the basic fundamentals of how to identify and track animals. You’ll learn print track identification, how to measure tracks and gaits, animal behavior and pattern tracking, and track aging. You’ll make a tracking stick and follow an obstacle course to test and hone your new skills.
Whether you are a backcountry hiker, or simply like to take strolls in the park, this workshop is an excellent way to enrich your outdoors experience.
For adults and children ages 13 and up. Pre-registration is required. The fee is $10.00 per person. For more information or to register, call 203-259-6305 ext. 109.
