Project Limulus researchers from Sacred Heart University will share information about this ongoing research and monitoring program studying horseshoe crab ecology in Long Island Sound. The program will begin with a brief introduction and information session outdoors, then will head to the beach in search of horseshoe crabs.
This program is 100% outdoors. Participants should wear shoes or boots that can get wet and sandy, a sun hat, plenty of sunscreen, and a bottle of drinking water; we will be outdoors on the beach for the duration of the program. Participants will be required to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines during the program time.
Space is limited to a maximum 20 participants. Participants will be further divided into smaller groups for the tagging portion of the program.
Pre-registration required. NO WALK-INS.

Once registered, a waiver must be completed and returned to lcrocco@ctaudubon.org before the program date. This program is 100% outdoors. Note: Center building and facilities (including restrooms) are closed, however, there is a portable toilet available (please bring hand sanitizer). These programs may be cancelled or postponed due to adverse weather. Program participants will be notified via e-mail.
