All levels of birders are welcome on this leisurely walk and talk with our habitat steward. A variety of birds, including American Redstart, ground nesting Ovenbirds and other warblers can be seen and heard throughout the varied habitats.
Please arrive on time and dress for the weather. Inclement weather cancels. Bring binoculars, camera, water, sunscreen, bug spray, walking stick and a sense of adventure! Binoculars are available to borrow.

Join Deirdra Wallin, program coordinator, on a hike through the varied habitats of Deer Pond Farm. The focus will be on covering many trails (approximately 3 miles) at a good pace. The route will be moderately strenuous with several hundred feet of elevation change.

Most birds have gone quiet, but buzzing cicadas in the tree tops provide the soundtrack of the late-summer forest. Enjoy the evening exploring the varied habitats of Deer Pond Farm with conservation biologist Jim Arrigoni, uncovering points of natural history interest as well as demonstrating the management practices used to promote native biodiversity.
