Learn about birds, migration and more as Elissa Johnson, science teacher and librarian reads Flute’s Journey: The Life of a Wood Thrush written and illustrated by Lynne Cherry. A short walk through our new bird and pollinator garden and around two nearby ponds will follow .
Dress for the weather. Inclement weather cancels. Bring water bottle, walking stick, binoculars, camera and a sense of adventure.

The world of bird watching can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! This gentle introduction assumes nothing, except that you are curious to learn more about enjoying these wondrous creatures. We will cover use of binoculars and the variety of clues that help to identify different kinds of birds. Bring (or borrow from us) binoculars and all the questions you have about bird watching but were afraid to ask.
