Many duck species make their way south to winter along the coast and escape freezing waterways further north. Winter is also one of the best times of year to see Bald Eagles in the state. One of the best spots in southeastern CT to see all of these birds is Mamacoke Island on the Thames River, where Bald Eagles roost in the trees and ducks congregate in the open waters of the river. Join Conservation & Education Coordinator Joe Attwater as we search for these birds and more at one of the most unique locations in the state. https://maps.google.com/maps?z=16&daddr=++Old+Lyme+CT+06371+More information about Eagles & Ducks at Mamacoke Island |
