Become a Citizen Science Volunteer! We will be searching for animal track and sign and documenting the presence of large mammals such as fisher, river otter, black bear, and bobcat. Trained volunteers monitor study sites in Willington, Canterbury, & Woodstock quarterly. Training fee per hike: $50 CAS members; $60 non-members. We've rescheduled the Volunteer Open House. Hope to see you on Sunday March 5 from 1-3 p.m. 
If you’ve ever wanted to be a part of a team that works to protect and conserve our natural environment, then you won’t want to miss our Volunteer Open House!
Volunteers help us in many ways: as teachers, hosts for reception and the nature store, at special events, and in the sanctuary.  There are opportunities for those with skills in gardening, animal care, administrative work, publicity and more.

In the event of inclement weather, the Volunteer Open House will be rescheduled for Sunday March 12 from 1-3 p.m.

With spring rains and snowmelt, pools that typically are dry throughout summer, become breeding habitat for woodland amphibians. Peepers, wood frogs and spotted salamanders congregate at these vernal pools. Our trained volunteers search vernal pools for these breeding amphibians and their egg masses. Call to register for one of the training sessions at 860-928-4948. Fee: $10 for CAS members; $15 for non-members.
