Nature Nursery - Fall Harvest

Ages 2-3 with a participating adult

What do all the animals do in the fall? How do they prepare for winter? Where do the leaves go? Each week we will discover the answers to these         questions. Come join us as we discover fun facts, create cool crafts and meet exciting animals. Please wear appropriate indoor/outdoor attire. Seven-week series: members $72, non-members $96. Single class: members $12/class, non-members $16/class.

DPF Family Election Day Hike

November 7, 2017 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Everyone should vote to go on a hike on Election Day! Exercise your right to vote and come exercise your legs at Deer Pond Farm for a family friendly exploration of the trails and ponds. We’ll learn about the birds and critters that make their home here at our newest sanctuary. 

November 7 10:00 AM (2-3 hours) 1.5-2.5 miles mildly hilly trails

Dress for the weather. Rain cancels.

Bring binoculars, camera and a sense of adventure.

Free for members

$5.00 non-members

Toddler Trails and Tales

Center volunteer and mom of three, Melissa Telford will entertain your toddlers with stories, activities and fun along our trails. Wear clothes and boots appropriate for the weather. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Fee per child/per day: $5 CAS members; $7 non-members.

Thinking Thursday Walk & Talk "Let's Talk Compost!"

Join Master Composter, Deirdra Wallin at Deer Pond Farm on our first Thinking Thursday Walk & Talk! You’ll learn the benefits of increasing your recycling efforts via home composting and see how it mimics the natural process of decomposition in nature. Healthy soil supports a healthy landscape to support wildlife habitat. We will enjoy a short nature walk after the introduction to composting talk.

Bring binoculars, camera, and a sense of adventure.

Ages 6 – 8

School is out and it’s a day of fun at the Center at Fairfield! The day will be filled with a variety of nature-based activities including crafts, live animal visits and weather permitting, outdoor exploration in the Sanctuary. Snack provided. Send a nut-free lunch. Registration required.  Fee: members $35/day, non-members $40/day.
