Join us at the Coastal Center at Milford Point on for a free member event on Sunday, February 19 from 1-3PM to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count.
Staff will be on hand to explain the counting procedure, help you identify birds, and show you how to fill out your bird count data forms. Stop by at any point within those two hours – be prepared to commit at least 15 continuous minutes to count birds when you arrive. You never know what you might see!

The wilderness can be pretty dangerous for a critter. To help stay safe, many animals use camouflage to blend into their environment. Come learn about the many creatures who are masters of disguise. Children will create their own camouflaged creature to take home! For children between the ages of 4 and 6 years with an actively participating adult.

Center volunteer and mom of three, Melissa Telford will entertain your toddlers with stories, activities and winter fun along our trails. Wear clothes and boots appropriate for the cold weather. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost per child per day: $5 CAS members; $7 non-members. Cost for entire series: $35 CAS members; $45 non-members.

The afternoons will be filled with fresh air, exercise and fun. Wildlife lessons will be quietly inserted along the way. We will be outside, so warm winter clothing and boots are a must.
