    Sunset Nature Hike with Jim Arrigoni

    Get to know the newly opened trails on the New York side of Deer Pond Farm on these approximately 3.5 mile hikes to scenic views.  The terrain is gentle to moderate, but we will travel at a brisk pace with a few breaks along the way.

    Please arrive on time and dress for the weather.  Inclement weather cancels. Bring binoculars, camera, water, sunscreen, bug spray, walking stick and a sense of adventure! Binoculars are available to borrow.

    All levels of birders are welcome on this leisurely walk and talk with our senior director of science and conservation. A variety of birds, including American Redstart, ground nesting Ovenbirds and other warblers can be seen and heard throughout the varied habitats.

    The focus for this program will be Japanese Barberry and Mugwort.  Come learn about invasive plant species ecology and management and enjoy the camaraderie of collective action to improve our sanctuary and learn what you can do at home.
