“I started with the Glastonbury center only a couple of years after it opened.  The best thing the Connecticut Audubon Society is doing is the adult programs.  All nature centers have children’s programs, but few have such an assortment of adult programming.

“Probably the most neglected area is maintaining our sanctuaries that are not connected with a center.  We are putting some effort into them in the last year or so.  More could be done to gradually make them more visitor friendly.  We are moving in the right direction.

“On a larger scale, the biggest challenge is to educate the next generation of environmentalists.  Kids today are not as connected with the outdoors as I was.  We need to reach more of them.”
