3 Connecticut Audubon Centers are competing against each other in the Birdathon. Show your support!

The team representing Pomfret will probably be the only one to add Northern Bobwhite to its list. Photo by Deb Eccleston.

May 6, 2024—Three of Connecticut Audubon’s centers are participating in Migration Magic in a new way.

They’re competing against each other in the Birdathon to see how many species they can find on their sanctuaries during May.

It’s the Center at Pomfret vs. the Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center vs. the Coastal Center at Milford Point.

You can encourage them and support your favorite (or all 3) by making a Birdathon contribution. Your gift will be used by that center to improve bird conservation on their specific sanctuaries.

Each center chooses a species goal based on their sanctuary’s size and habitats. Here are the links:

Pomfret
Andy Rzeznikiewicz will be leading a team for Pomfret — its goal is to see 100 species on the 700-acre Bafflin Sanctuary.

Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center
Joe Attwater will be leading a tea for RTPEC. Its goal is to see 60 species.

Coastal Center at Milford Point
Ken Elkins will be leading a team for Milford Point. Its goal is to see 175 species.

This will be fun!

Andy, Joe and Ken will submit eBird checklists to track their results. And you can see how much the supporters of these centers have contributed on the main Birdathon page.
