Invasive Plant Walk

You say the birds are eating the multiflora rose fruit – isn’t that providing food for them? Join Karen Cowperthwaite, licensed landscape architect on Deer Pond Farm’s trails and find out why invasive plants are not good for Connecticut’s birds. Learn about native alternatives that are critical for bird health and beautiful as well. We’ll also touch on ways of dealing with invasive plants as we walk.
Allow for an average of two hours. Dress for walks that cover approximately 1.5 miles along moderately hilly terrain and the weather. Inclement weather cancels. Bring binoculars, camera and a sense of adventure.
