E.O. Wilson’s Half-Earth Project on Zoom, January 28

January 19, 2021 — Young, Gifted, and Wild About Birds returns on Thursday, January 28, with a great program about an effort to save half the earth for biodiversity.

Dennis Liu, Ph.D., is vice president of education at the E.O. Wilson Foundation’s Half-Earth Project. Half-Earth Project seeks to protect half the land and sea in order to manage enough habitat to reverse the extinction crisis and ensure the long-term health of the planet.

Dr. Liu Zoom presentation is called “Half-Earth and All the Hummingbirds.’ He’ll discuss how E.O Wilson’s vision came about and how the project is attacking the problem. He’ll focus in particular on conservation strategies important for our planet’s diversity of birds.
