Ramble, Reflect and Write
–
October 7, 2023
Join us in the age-old tradition of nature immersion to appreciate the beauty and wisdom of the natural world. We will pause to observe, reflect, and connect mind, body, and spirit within the sanctuary of Trailwood. Be inspired by the words of great nature poets as technology and schedules fade away. The second hour will include time to collect the threads of your writing into an essay to share with the group if you wish. We will conclude our time with the creative synthesis of community poetry. You will leave feeling literally connected and calm (No poetic experience needed!). Please bring a journal and pen, a water bottle, and cushion or mat to sit on (optional). Wear sunscreen or insect repellent at your discretion (paths are mostly shaded). This mindful walk and inspirational nature writing retreat will be led by Julie Rumrill — author, mindfulness instructor, and faculty member in the Department of Earth Science at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. Fee: $10 CAS members; $20 non-members. Please register at 860-928-4948 or trailwood@ctaudubon.org
