Birding by Ear, on Zoom

The Winter Wren sings an amazing song.

Tuesday, August 25, 7 p.m.

Learning how to bird by ear is an important tool and useful field skill for birders though it can be difficult to pick out which bird is calling and from where. Join RTP Estuary Center teacher-naturalist Joe Attwater to learn how to identify birds by song and call, and which resources are most useful.

During this program you will learn:

  • What to listen for
  • How to identify birds by call and song
  • Resources for better birding by ear including phone apps

This program is for anyone interested in learning how to bird by ear. It will be formatted to meet the needs of persons with visual impairments. This program has been developed at the request of the National Federation of the Blind.

We’re offering the program for free, but we ask that you consider a donation of $10.
