Monarchs are on the move to their overwintering grounds in Mexico! This outdoor-only program starts with a discovery talk about the mysteries and magic of Monarch life cycles, habitat, migration patterns, and how you can create a certified Monarch Waystation in your yard. Then we will start our search of the Center’s Pollinator Garden and grounds for Monarch butterflies and carefully net any we find to tag them as part of Monarch Watch’s  citizen science program.  Finding, netting, and tagging monarchs cannot be guaranteed.

Participants are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. The entire program is outdoors, we will be walking over uneven surfaces.  We strongly recommend that you bring water, a sun hat and apply sunblock and bug spray before arriving. Participants will be notified if program is rescheduled to rain date.
Note: Center building and facilities (including restrooms) are closed, however, there is a portable toilet available (please bring hand sanitizer).

This program is for adults only. Group is limited to 8 participants. Members $15, Non-members $20. Pre-registration required. Click below to register. Once registered, participants will need to complete and return a waiver. This program is at the Coastal Center, 1 Milford Point Road, Milford, CT.
