The Big Sit 2020: A great way to support bird conservation

Help the Coastal Center’s Birds by Supporting the Big Sit Bird Challenge!

Six of New England’s best birders will be representing the Connecticut Audubon Society in this year’s International Big Sit Bird Challenge, to be held Sunday, October 11.

The event is a fundraiser for the Coastal Center at Milford Point. The team — Frank Mantlik, Jim and Patrick Dugan, Frank Gallo, Tina Green, and Tom Murray, dubbed the Surf Scopers — will be trying to raise more than $5,000 by identifying as many species of birds as possible from one spot (an observation platform in the dunes).

This year the Coastal Center at Milford Point will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary, every dollar you pledge will help us sustain our important, far-reaching, education and conservation efforts.

Click here to help the Coastal Center by making a Big Sit donation!

Your generous support will protect threatened nesting birds such as Purple Martins and Piping Plovers. It will fund adult birding courses, lectures, and field trips, and will deliver school programs to thousands of children in the Milford-New Haven area.

Remember, 100% of your donation directly supports these activities at the Coastal Center at Milford Point! Thank you for your generosity!

All the best,
Shari Greenblatt
Southwest Regional Director
