Beginner Bird & Nature Programs

October 22, November 12, December 10
10 – 11:30 a.m.

Join teacher-naturalist Carol Kratzman for a small group program exploring what’s happening on Milford Point through the fall. We’ll start at benches adjacent to the Pollinator Garden and bird feeders, then stroll to the observation platform overlooking Long Island Sound. Learn about the plants, birds and wildlife of the area including the many ways plants and animals are connected.  Get tips on basic bird and plant identification and binocular use. This program includes limited walking over mostly level surfaces. Benches at the garden and observation platform will provide seating during this program.

Participants are required to wear masks and practice physical distancing. The program is 100% outdoors. Please wear appropriate outdoor gear, sturdy, closed-toe footwear, and bring water, apply sunblock and bug spray before arriving. These programs may be cancelled or postponed due to adverse weather.

Note: Center building and facilities (including restrooms) are closed, however, there is a portable toilet available (please bring hand sanitizer).

This program is designed for beginners. Group is limited to 10 participants. Please bring binoculars if you have them.

Members $15, Non-members $20. Pre-registration required.
