Blackbirds of Connecticut, on Zoom

October 26, 2020 — Common Grackles congregate in big flocks in fall. In spring, fields and marshes are filled with the sound of another blackbird, the Red-winged Blackbird. A diverse group of birds, blackbirds are striking and beautiful in their understated way.

Tuesday, October 27, 7 p.m., teacher naturalist Joe Attwater will present a Zoom webinar on these fascinating, sometimes-overlooked birds, and other members of the blackbird — or Icterid — family that can be found in Connecticut.
