September 22, 2021 — On Thursday, October 21, at 6 p.m, Connecticut Audubon members will gather on Zoom for the organization’s 2021 Annual Meeting.

It promises to be a fascinating meeting, highlighted by a keynote presentation by CJ Goulding, titled “Jordans in the Great Outdoors: How You Can Gear Up to Create Change.”

In addition, Connecticut Audubon members will vote on this year’s slate of officers, and on nominees to the Board of Directors. (We will provide more information as the meeting gets closer.)

The Annual Meeting will also include:
  • reports by the Executive Director, Treasurer and Nominating and Governance Committee
  • confirmation of the election of Regional Board Representatives to the Board of Directors
  • the presentation of the annual Dave Engelman Volunteer Benchmark Awards.
If you’re unfamiliar with CJ Goulding, he describes himself as “a weaver, a facilitator, a community builder, an organizer, and a storyteller who invests in the growth of people, the growth of connection between people, and the growth of communities.”

He says, “My work involves connecting, investing in, and supporting leaders who are creating change in their communities, and shaping new narratives about our connection to community and the outdoors, like ‘Why I Wear Jordans in the Great Outdoors.’ “

CJ is a consultant and a partner with The Avarna Group, a firm that creates pathways, provides resources and innovating strategies that support the outdoor and environmental sector in their evolution toward justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

The meeting of course is free.
