Celebrate Earth Day 2022 with Mountainfilm!

Make sure your Earth Day 2022 activities include Mountainfilm!

If you’ve participated in our Mountainfilm online screenings before, you know how great they are.

This year on Earth Day weekend, April 22-24, we will be showing 11 short movies with themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission of using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.

Buy your tickets and watch at home, anytime from 9 a.m. on Friday, April 22, to 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, April 24.

The program is organized by Connecticut Audubon’s Greater Hartford program.

All the films look amazing but these three jumped out at us:

199 Little Heroes: Jesus from Mexico: Eleven-year-old Jésùs does what most kids his age do — he wakes up, goes to school and takes care of his little sister. He also lives on a very polluted canal in Mexico City’s Floating Gardens of Xochimilco and deals with heavy issues that many of us never need to think about. And he is really concerned. — Reviewed by Sadie Steinberg, age 16

One Star Reviews: National Parks: Classic American stereotypes come to life in one star reviews. For real. In a world where everyone’s a critic, the magic of our national parks is downplayed by couch potato tourists turned outdoor aficionados. Brief, beautiful and truly comical, award-winning director Alex Massey brings to light cringeworthy Yelp reactions to some of the most stunning natural wonders in America

Resilience: Outdoor recreation is not a privilege, but a cornerstone of mental health, joy and resilience. Lesford Duncan of the San Diego-based nonprofit Outdoor Outreach, whose mission is to “connect youth to the transformative power of the outdoors,” offers himself as a case study in the healing that comes from being outside.

Tickets are $15 for an individual, $25 for a household, and $75 for a group of two or more families.
