Horseshoe Crab Tagging at Milford Point
June 1st and 15th, 2024
9:00-11:00 AM
Project Limulus researchers from Sacred Heart University will share information about this ongoing research and monitoring program studying horseshoe crab ecology in Long Island Sound. The program will begin with a brief introduction and information session outdoors, then will head to the beach in search of horseshoe crabs. Participants should wear shoes or rubber rain boots that can get wet and sandy, a sun hat, and plenty of sunscreen; we will be walking out along the beach.
Members $9/person; Non-members $12/person.
Pre-registration required. This program is held at The Coastal Center, 1 Milford Point Road, Milford, CT.

Migration Magic 2024 at Milford Point
Migration Magic is a month-long family-friendly celebration of Connecticut’s birds—May 1-31, 2024.
It features more than three dozen bird walks at 28 preserves and parks in 20 communities around the state, plus an array of webinars, presentations, talks and even a concert.
One highlight is the month-long Birdathon, for people of all ages and all skill levels. Participate in this friendly competition at any time during May. The goal is to spot as many bird species as you can. The Birdathon is a fundraiser for bird conservation in the state. Great fun and great prizes for a great cause!

Birthday Parties at the Coastal Center
Interested in hosting your child’s birthday at the Coastal Center? Milford Point is the perfect place to celebrate your child’s birthday, with a 45 minute nature program included.
Many of our birthday programs also include an animal meet-and-greet.
